Xfce Panel Indicators
Some of you may have noticed that the gnome-applets package doesn't work with xfapplet 4.8. This is because the gnome-applets got converted to the new dbus api but Xfce just uses the old bonobo-based applets. So one workaround would be to downgrade gnome-applets to 2.30. But there is a better solution. There are several indicator programs which do the same thing.
For the weather plugin you could use indicator-weather.
For the CPU, network, RAM etc you could use indicator-multiload
Just install them with
apt-get install indicator-multiload indicator-weather
